John R Kool!

Interesting photo in today's Weird-Harry of our own John R Kool (or is
that John B Kool?) with a herald trumpet (or a valved bugle?) at
Sportsmen's Park yesterday. John was dressed up like he was master of
the hounds or something and there was an implication he might have
played a post call or two.

Thanks for sending me an email. Somehow I missed your post here in
oma.general.

1. It IS a valved bugle. Though I am trying to justify the expense of a
good quality herald trumpet.

2. It was Horsmen's Park, the heir to horse racing in Omaha after the
demise of Aksarben.

3 I played 4 calls on Th and Fri and 5 on Sat and Sunday.

4. I September, I take my "act" to Atokad Park in South Sioux City for 3
days of live horse racing.

5. KETV Channel 7 did a story on me which aired Sunday evening. You can
see the "Wierd-Harry" photo and the KETV story on my web site,
