December 2003 Omahug (non)Meeting

(Yes, the December non-meeting in June !!)

Topic: Practical Exercises in Applied Probability and Statistics

The OMAHUG December non-meeting will be SATURDAY, June 19th. at
Casino Omaha, just west of Onawa, Iowa, at 6:00pm. (Time approximate:
See Below.)
PLEASE NOTE THE SPECIAL WEEKDAY, DATE, TIME AND LOCATION<<<<<<
FOR DECEMBER'S NON-MEETING. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
We'll have an all-you-can-eat buffet dinner followed by the practical
exercises in probability. Plan on din-din around 6:30 p.m.

For those who wish to share rides, you might want to coordinate it by
posting in OMAHA (oma.general on Usenet) if you're interested.

You will find that Casino Omaha is usually far less crowded, less smoky,
with far shorter lines than the three local facilities.

Casino Omaha is just west of Onawa, Iowa, at exit 112 on route 29.
Just take 29 north from Omaha, exit at Onawa, turn west (left, for
those coming from Omaha) on highway 175, and follow the signs. Casino
Omaha is regarded as one of the 'classier' casinos between Las Vegas
and Atlantic City. (Assuming, of course, that your idea of 'class'
includes blue neon palm trees. ;-) All of the well-known table and
machine games are featured, including Blackjack, Roulette, Craps,
Big-6 (_gag_), live Poker, Video Poker, Slots, and >>NO KENO<< !!!!!
(Keno is gaming for those who can't do math.)

As usual, prospective members, friends, guests, etc. are invited. (Iowa
gaming regulations prohibit persons under 21 from entering the casino
property, including the restaurant.)

I see you shiver with antici .......

So.... for those that missed it: Jack was -1 in his trips to the
Buffet (unless you count the large 'end cut' as two trips), I was $23
ahead of the house when we left, and Sue is a mean Monopoly player.
Interesting sights included Woman With Guy In Black Cowboy Hat. All
in all, a good time was had by all that were there. The rest of you
are L7 :-).

Yeah, and I think I was the only one who was in the hole on the games.
Just couldn't come out ahead on anything. :(

It was fun, however. ;-)

Good day JSW

You could have been at Papillion Days!

While it might not replace Peeps in your heart, you could have enjoyed
deep-fried Twinkies at our food booth!

If I bring my own Peeps, would you deep-fry them for me? :-)

Oh, I think you came out ahead if you compare "buffet price paid"
and "amount of prime rib eaten" :-)
