Seems as if Cocks newservers cocked it up today--multiple reports of all
the pointers going berserk, no messages showing as new, no significant
warning on what to expect, etc. Just about what you would expect from
The Other Phone(y) Company.

Someone said they cut in new servers and message numbering or some such
got munged.

"Go figure."

It's not a bug, it's a FEATURE!! :)

I saw some strange article counts even last evening.

When I logged-on just now, it said there were TWO (2) messages in this group.
When I opened your article (the first), the second one disappeared. I suspect
this is a function of my reader and that your message posted twice.

Well, I'm willing to cut 'em SOME slack: There are more than a few ISPs that
are simply dropping their news feed. There is only one thing I hate worse
than web-based newfrouping: Web-based email!

Get this: I got a door hangar yesterday and there are signs all over our
neighborhood (they really "stand out" among all the political signs - yeah,
right) stating that Cox is "updating their network" from midnight to 6:00 AM
for the next week and to give them access the the easement.

Nevermind that the "easement" is in the air and that the pole line is on the
OTHER side of my fence - and that there is NO fence (unrestricted access from
the CORRECT side of the lead) surrounding the premises behind me.

FWIW, we're kicking their @$$ with our internet service "price for life"
promotion. Moo-ha-ha!

(Both yours and Mike's)
Nice to know you are both alive.

How about Jack Winslade, Kip Kippley, etcetera?

It's nice to establish that the "lines" are still open...

I ate BBQ with JSW just the other night. I haven't seen Kip in YEARS but
"heard" from him not too long ago.

Happy Halloween! BOO!

There is so little traffic on this newsgroup, I rarely check it anymore.
