Looking at it logically "Cap and Trade" is cap and tax with the big
boys like GE making out like bandits. There'll be no energy savings or
major reduction of greenhouse gases. BTW di-hydrogen monoxide is a
much more powerful greenhouse gas. Call your representatives to control
IT!

On a more realistic note, in 1988 I installed a 98.5% efficient gas
furnace and 14 SEER air conditioning unit. Before that I installed a
set-back thermostat saving 60% over the original plant. I was called
crazy. It payed for itself after 10 years. I upgraded one of my
computers from CRT to LCD and replaced all the incandescent lamps to
CFL. I saved money on heating, energy usage and replacement costs. I
did that to save money. NOBODY HELD A GUN TO MY HEAD! I still use a
quadraphonic open-reel recorder with out-board DBX and Dolby. I also
use an older Zenith tube-type table radio.

I refuse to have the government dictate to me what I can or cannot do
inside my home. If energy costs go up I'll invest in wind and/or solar
which will untether me from the grid depriving nice people at OPPD from
earning a living. Then the greedy bastards in Washington will need to
find another "cash cow" to milk just like SCHIP with people quitting
smoking because the price's too high. My brother finally did!

There are a lot of compounds that comprise greenhouse gasses. All the
others of which actually exist in gaseous form for the most part. The
percentage of H2O which exists in gaseous form in our atmosphere is a
miniscule portion of the available compound. Unless, of course, global
warming is allowed to continue to run its course. Don't tell me you
really, honestly believe climate change is not an immediate concern?

Oh, now *there's* a real energy-saver! Do the world a favor and get
an iPod and a transistor radio. ;-)

News flash, Rick: the government *already* dictates to you what you
can or cannot do inside your home! Building codes, anyone? And it's to
protect your neighbors as much as to force you into a minimal level of
security and convenience, whether you like it or not. They also have
words about where you can ... and whether you can install a wind power
generator or a solar array willy-nilly on top of your garage.
