I got this link in an e-mail from TurntableNeedles.com
Video Fun:
First we would like to share with you a fun little 7 min 42sec video we
found over at archive.org. It's called 'Living Stereo', and boy is it
ever a trip into those thrilling days of yesteryear. Made in 1958 this
short film by RCA explains the details of a new technology call
'Stereo'. The useful part of this video is that it will bring you up to
speed as to how the needle rides in the groove of the record and
transmits the information thru your cartridge to your amplifier and to
your speakers in a very easy to understand manner.
Although this video focuses on the then new ceramic cartridge, the
concept is the same in the more modern moving magnet cartridges most of
us have today. Have a look, Living Stereo.
